Planning Commission
The City of Union’s Planning Commission is made of seven members appointed by the Mayor, not more than two shall be nonresidents of the City of Union. Not more than two can be city officers. The Planning Commission makes the final decision on Conditional Uses and Variances. Planning Commission decisions are always made following a public hearing, which is always advertised in the same way.
The Planning Commission has a major, but not final role in the approval of partitions and subdivisions. Final approval of those is by the City Council, but the Council only gets to approve something built to the specifications set by the Planning Commission.
